Data Analysis VIP Club
We aim to develop your data analysis skills to the Intermediate proficiency level
through consistent training and practice using just three 5-10 minute micro-lessons per week.
There is no assumption of prior knowledge in SPSS, R, or Statistics.
Data Analysis VIP Club
Here Is What the Program Includes
- Weekly Data Analysis Training: video training and engagement/practice exercises require no more than about 30 minutes of your time and some can be completed on your phone. Consistent long term practice is the objective here.
- Help At Your Finger Tips: If you have a question about the material or there is something you don't understand, just contact me via the message box at the bottom of the video. It comes directly to my phone and I'll answer you ASAP.
- SPSS and R Data Analysis Training: Training exercises will be taught primarily in SPSS along with optional training in R statistics.
- 1-on-1 Help Available: If you need more personalized assistance for a data analysis project you're working on or just want to pick our brain on something related to research, statistics, or data analysis, help is available (additional fees apply).
Data Analysis Proficiency Scale
(Adapted from the U.S. Government NIH Competencies Proficiency Scale)
Beginner (50%< content mastery)
You have little to no knowledge or experience in this skill area, or your skills and knowledge have diminished due to lack of use and practice.
Novice (51%-69% content mastery)
You have the level of experience gained in a classroom and/or experimental scenarios or as a trainee on-the-job.
Intermediate (70%-79% content mastery)
You are able to successfully complete tasks in this competency as requested.
Advanced (80%-89% content mastery)
You can perform the actions associated with this skill without assistance.
Highly Advanced (90%-100% content mastery)
You are known as an expert in this area.
Data Analysis VIP Club
How it Works
Step 1: Register for the Data Analysis VIP Club
Step 2: Receive the Welcome Email
Step 3: Week #0 - Foundational Training
The Data Analysis VIP Club assumes no prior knowledge of statistics or SPSS. So, during the foundational training period, you will learn the basic concepts needed to analyze your data. The foundational training consists of eight 10-minute videos. They are taught in plain English and contain no formulas. You can complete the foundational training at your own pace, taking a single day up to 5 days to finish. The foundational training covers the following topics:
- Measures of Central Tendency
- Measures of Dispersion
- How to define variables
- Variables levels of measurement
- How to covert research questions into variables
- The normal distribution
- Central limit theorem
- Introduction to SPSS
Step 4: Week 1+ - Data Analysis Training
Every Monday, you receive an email that contains the links to the micro-lessons for that week's topic. You have until the following Monday to complete the micro-lessons. After that, you will receive two weekly reminders to complete the micro-lessons. Depending on the complexity of the statistical test, it may require two weeks of three micro-lessons.
Our goal is to help you achieve an Intermediate Proficiency level in data analysis.
So, let's get started Now!
Below are the tests you will learn how to perform over the coming weeks.
The first two weeks will be spent learning how to select the correct statistical tests. Then we will focus on the statistical tests themselves. More complex statistical tests may require two weeks of micro lessons.
