Hi, I'm Jacob Mays.

I created this 7 day workshop because if you're anything like I was, you are sick and tired of being frustrated with analyzing your data.

Back when I first learned SPSS as a graduate student 25 years ago, I had major trouble figuring out which statistical analysis to run given a specific research question. Then once I finally figured it out, I also had difficulty interpreting the results and writing it in APA format. I wasn’t doing well in my statistics class at all. The only thing that saved me from failing the class was the passing of my mother in the middle of the semester. The professor gave me an incomplete and I would have to retake the class in the spring.

I was given a second chance. I was panicking. I couldn’t rely on the professor for help because his office hours were taken up by scores of other students. So, I read a couple of step-by-step books I found on SPSS. I studied these books at least 10 hours a day during my 3 week winter break. I would do the exercises repeatedly until I knew them like the back of my hand. My hard work paid off. I got an A in my statistics class that spring. In fact, I became so good in SPSS and statistics, that a year later, my statistics professor made me the project manager of his 1.3 million dollar research grant. This grant paid for my tuition and provided me with a $15,000 stipend!

Sixteen years later, I leveraged my skills in SPSS and research to become the head of market research in the B2B division of a fortune 500 company. I receive questions about analyzing and interpreting data from both of students and professionals. However, it’s difficult to help people with analyzing their data when you are not at the same location. So, I decided to create a web site containing video tutorials on how to use SPSS.

Results have been phenomenal: SPSSVideoTutor.com has trained over 60,000 students and professionals on how to analyze their data and interpret their results. SPSSVideoTutor also licensed our video tutorials to Walden University, one of the largest online universities in the world.

I personally invite you to join me and other graduate students and professional for my FREE 7 Day Data Analysis Workshop where you’ll begin to analyze data with my guidance and support.

What You Will Accomplish In this 10 Day Data Analysis Workshop

This workshop is designed to guide you step-by-step through all the stages of data analysis process, so that you can analyze your data with confidence and skill.

Day #1

Select the Correct Statistical Test

You will learn how to select the correct statistical test using your research question(s) and information about the levels of measurement of your variables.

Day #2

Check Your Data for Errors and Missing Values

You will learn how to check your data for errors and missing values. If there are any errors and/or missing values, you will learn how to fix these issues. At the end of this session, you will have found and fixed variables with errors and missing values.

Day #3

Recode Your Data

You will learn how to reverse code your variables and recode your variables into new variables. At the end of this session, you will have recoded your variables.

Day #4

Compute New Variables

You will learn how to compute new variables. If you have a questionnaire that contains individual scale questions, you will need to compute sum or average scores from the individual scale questions. At the end of this session, you will have computed composite scale scores for your data.

Day #5

Perform Descriptive Statistics

You will learn how to compute descriptive statistics on the key variables in your data file, including demographic variables, and other key variables used in your data analysis. Descriptive statistics include means, standard deviations, and frequencies. At the end of this session, you will have computed descriptive statistics for your variables.

Day #6

Perform the Test of Statistical Assumptions

You will learn how to test the parametric assumptions of statistical tests.

Day #7

Perform and Interpret Statistical Tests - Part 1

You will learn how to perform and interpret t-tests.

Day #8

Perform and Interpret Statistical Tests - Part 2

You will learn how to perform and interpret ANOVAs.

Day #9

Perform and Interpret Statistical Tests - Part 3

You will learn how to perform and interpret a Pearson correlation and bivariate linear regression.

Day #10

Perform and Interpret Statistical Tests - Part 4

You will learn how to perform and interpret a multiple linear regression.
