I created the SPSS to R Mini-Workshop Series because if you're anything like me, you are sick and tired of being frustrated with analyzing your data with expensive software.
In 2008, I launched SPSSVideoTutor.com, after one of my former grad school classmates asked me to help her in her stats class. I was living in South Florida, and she was in Tallahassee, so I created a couple of video tutorials for her and put them online. Over the next few years, almost 200,000 people have viewed my SPSS video tutorials.
Over the past two years, many of my SPSS students have asked me to create tutorials on R. However, I chose not to do so because R uses code to perform statistics. There was no way I would learn R code to teach to others because when I first learned SPSS in 1993, we did not have a windows version. So, I had to learn code, and it was a nightmare. So, learning R code was like going back to that nightmare period.
However, now there is a windows version of R, and I have created a new training series called SPSS to R Mini-Workshop Series. In these mini-workshops, I teach people how to perform and interpret statistical tests using the Windows version of R and SPSS. In addition, I have SPSS and R open side by side so that you can see the differences and similarities between the two software programs.
I personally invite you to join me and other graduate students and professionals for my SPSS to R Mini-Workshops, where you’ll begin to analyze data using R with my guidance and support.
This workshop is designed to guide you step-by-step on
How to perform and interpret the following statistical tests in R and SPSS:
We will examine the similarities and differences between the R and SPSS outputs.
We assume no prior knowledge of statistics or R
There are pre-workshop videos on basic statistical concepts for people who have never taken statistics or R
There is a free trial period
